Where else but The Nation do you get access to working with Milton Glaser, Steve Brodner, images by Jasper Johns and Carrie Mae Weems? A career highlight, just out of art school.
As The Nation celebrates its 150th Anniversary, I worked with their Creative Director, Robert Best, to source, design and produce the special edition issue, published in April 2015. Coming in at over 250 pages long, it was a far step from their normal weekly issue of 45 pages. I designed editorial layouts, created graphics and infographics, sourced photos, researched and confirmed licensing, worked with the freelance illustrators and did all the logistical coordination for the project. It was an incredible break for my career, getting to work with legends like Robert, Milton Glaser, Steve Brodner, Yuko Shimizu, Mirko Ilic and the whole team at The Nation.
