GQ.com

Quick and dirty graphics for a quick and dirty website

Working to make content online is extremely fast-paced. GQ.com publishes about 30 stories a day, and we would try to art all of them. I worked there during a time when the print editorial team was trying to unify the art direction of the online artwork. Typically we would hear about stories in the morning that were going to be posted that day, and have maybe an hour to work on arting them. Sometimes we would find out about them 5 minutes before they were to be published, and knowing they’d be high visibility stories, we had to art them quickly and right away. This is a collection of graphics made for gq.com—-sometimes in an hour, sometimes in as little as 5 min, always quick, always dirty but hopefully sometimes good.
